Additional Information

Liberia is still recovering from a 14-year civil war in which young people were the main participants. Peace has not supplied many of the opportunities which young people expected, notably employment.  Today, many young people feel hopeless and without opportunities. Many charity projects have done little to alleviate this, creating dependencies. Mercy Corps is seeking to revolutionize this sector by creating a social enterprise which puts young people in control of their futures. Mercy Corps is establishing a nonprofit business which will integrate a mobile app, web- and phone-based information portal, and physical job and training centers, to put young people in control of their futures. All of the nation's youth opportunities will be available at their fingertips. We hope to reach 50,000 youth within 3 years, and revolutionize the employment sector in the country (where there is currently no place for open job posting or advice whatsoever). To achieve this, we need amazing branding which engages youth, engages businesses, and which promotes uptake and social change.
