The Aire and Calder Partnership has been created, with the active support of the Environment Agency and Defra, in order to create significantly greater public involvement/engagement in the future of our rivers. We need to work with a very wide range of stakeholders to identify priorities for improving the quality of the rivers Aire and Calder and their catchments and, thereafter, to resource and to deliver improvements. The Aire and Calder Partnership is a ‘subsidiary’ of The Aire Rivers Trust and The Calder & Colne Rivers Trust, both of which are charities run by volunteers.
