The Aire Rivers Trust was formally established as a charity in May 2011 As a trust we have established the broad objective of improving the River Aire and its tributaries, particularly as regards its environment, access, water quality, wildlife, fish populations and recreational opportunities. The trust has established 5 strategic goals which are that: We want a cleaner river We aim to improve public appreciation for the river and its environment We want to improve access We want improved space for nature and more wildlife We want to reduce flooding We are totally resourced by volunteers, yet have managed to deliver a range of small and large projects improving the river environment. We now wish to move to the next stage of our development, growing membership, influence, projects delivered.
