ONELIFE is an educational programme based on the concept that all animals only have 'one life' and therefore the way in which we treat them during this life is of upmost importance to them as individuals. This programme engages teachers in the concepts of animal needs, emotions, behaviours and sentience, and the benefits to society through the development of socially aware, compassionate generations, discussing the social impacts of animal cruelty, citizens social responsibility to animals as sentient beings, approaches to facilitate positive behaviour towards animals in young people, the promotion of the ‘quality of life’ and ‘right to life’ concepts and the integration of these concepts within the school curriculum
