Personal Introduction

I’m Youchen, currently a year 2 in Singapore Polytechnic, diploma in Visual Communication and Media Design. I love minimalist and retro design style, including simple typography and using only 2 or 3 colors in an artwork. I am a fan of drawing skeletons and skull, and will try to integrate the concept into my artwork if possible. My strengths are in Illustrator and Photoshop. I like to design page layouts in print, be it a brochure or book. I am still brushing up my skills on Photoshop and improving photography skills. I am seeking for experience and building up my portfolio before I graduate. I am still a beginner at web design, and able to do a simple website with few jQuery effects. I have learnt basic marketing and advertising techniques, and also create advertisements for clients. Other than designing, I spend my free time watching movies, play instruments like violin and guitar. I also love to read books to relax my mind.
