Disability
As registered charity FamilyLine delivers 1 to 1 emotional support from trained volunteers in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Our free-phone telephone helpline allows any member of the family to spend as much time as they need to explore their situation with one of our volunteers. Callers are often experiencing very serious and complex problems that not only affect their own emotional well-being, but also the state of other family members too. Volunteers are trained to empathises with callers and encourages them to understand their problems, exploring how they are being affected by them and asking how they would see the situation improve. Calls range from divorce and family break-up to issues of depression, isolation, bereavement, fear and abuse.
