Mission

Our three objectives:1. To generate training opportunities and jobs for unemployed young people aged 16-242. To convert derelict and vacant land across London into productive urban farms. Currently two sites in LB Hounslow and one in LB Ealing.3. To increase the amount of local and organically grown produce consumed byWe aim to support the personal development of NEET youth furthest from the job market, in order that they may gain sustainable employment. We do this through engaging them in meaningful, productive work in a practical horticulture setting.

Additional Information

Cultivate London (CL) uses multiple derelict sites in West London to  train unemployed young people in horticulture to create access to employment and create a sustainable source of locally grown food. We offer Apprenticeship and Volunteering opportunities.  The enterprise element of CL uses plants seeded and grown by young people to sell locally to; cafes, green grocers, box schemes, and at farmers markets.  Revenue generated returns to CL to create further training and apprenticeship opportunities. In recognition of our work, we were the 2012 Observer Food Monthly’s “Producer of the Year” and received the 2013 Hounslow Business Award for “Best Business for Apprenticeships and Employment for Young People”.  We were recently “Highly Commended” in the same category at the 2014 London Business Awards.
