Additional Information

Chawton House Library is an internationally respected research and learning centre for the study of early women's writing (1600-1830). Set in the Elizabethan manor house once owned by Jane Austen's brother, Edward, we are also responsible for the protection and conservation of the house and grounds which provide the historical setting to the Library.
