Dndp Cic

Mission

In the next 3 years, DNDP CIC will have at least one franchisee in every postcode area in Scotland. Each franchisee will come from the disabled community and will employ an additional 6 people. Including two co-pilots, to do the 'leg work', we will work predominately with local authorities and housing associations to provide a professional & personable courier service that focuses on creating jobs & keeping money in the community. Over 11 million people in the UK have a long term illness or disability, it is estimated that this figure will rise to 20 million by 2025. On average, that works out about half a million newly-disabled/ long term ill people every year. DNDP has successfully employed 10 disabled people in the last year; proving the business model works.   DNDP has improved health & well being, created healthier people & reductions in health interventions; Increased employability, increased confidence & self esteem, while also reducing isolation. We also plan on implementing a pilot project with two electric vans in 2015. This is an innovation that NO courier company has piloted yet. One electric van to serve Glasgow and one to serve Edinburgh; we can employ an additional 8 disabled people & 4 co-pilots. It is hoped that by 2020 we will have two electric vans in all Scottish cities.
