The Gambia
http://www.wttrust.org (in development)The World Transition Trust is currently based in the Gambia where we are currently focussing our efforts on rebuilding tourism and improving resiliance to infectious disease in the country, following the Ebola crisis, which despite being kept out of the country, still had hugely devastating effect on the country's tourism industry. In particular we are buiding strategies to assist the Ministry of Tourism achieve long-term sustinable prosperity within the industry by developing Ecotourism in the country as well as niches such as health and culture tourism. Our ultimate goal is for the tourism industry to demonstrate significant, real value successes through a transition to more sustainable practices, thereby inspiring sustainable development within other sectors, namely heatlh, agriculture and environment. We are looking for designers, copywriters, PR and marketing experts, as well as experts of any other relevant field as well as to bring people on to our team on a longer-term basis. We are able to work remotely with team members in the UK, or alternatively can provide accommodation and facilities in the Gambia for anyone wishing to join our main office there. We look forward to hearing from dynamic, driven, consciously minded, talented individuals who would like to work on exciting creative challenges with the potential to effect geniune positive change in parts of the world where it is most needed.
Poverty Alleviation
The World Transition Trust assists developing countries implement sustainable and resiliant solutions to challenges within the sectors of health, agriculture, education, economy, trade, energy and environment. We do this by acting as an interface between governments of developing countries and sustainable innovation organisations, projects and consultants from around the world, helping build short and long-term solutions based on the cutting-edge and viable technologies and approaches being pioneered internationally. During the Ebola Crisis, we provided consultancy to the governments of Sierra Leone and the Gambia on cutting-edge sustainable healthcare solutions and continue to work closely with government ministers.
