Additional Information

The FIG Tree relocated to St John’s Church, North Road from its original home in Garstang - the world’s first Fair Trade Town in November 2014. We run school workshops and visits, have a café and shop hold community events, heritage and tourism activities along with consultancy to support the International Fair Trade Towns movement. The FIG Tree uses The four themes of Fair Trade Towns, the British Atlantic slave trade and its abolition, Quakers and cocoa/chocolate in its educational and public engagement activities to raise awareness of present day trade injustices and poverty. Our new base is now in St John's, a Georgian church, built in 1754 which is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. They have long term plans to invest in the building to bring it back to its former glory.
