Our key mission is to provide a loving and safely designed space for rescue cats of London where we will promote and facilitate the mutual benefits of cat-human interaction. Not only will we offer a place for busy Londoners to unwind and enjoy the company of cats, but we will also give back to the community. We will set aside one afternoon per week to invite children and adults who suffer from physical and/or mental problems to brighten up their day. These visits will be entirely funded by our profits and guests' donations. The invited group will be given the full Great Kitten service, including hot drinks, cakes and refreshments. There will be a movie screening for them to enjoy, of course in the company of our resident cats! We will invite: children and adults suffering from depression and/or anxiety issueschildren with life-threatening diseases or terminal illnesses children with learning difficultiesAs shown by previous research, each of these groups benefits from interaction with cats.
Animal Welfare
Great Kitten plans to bring the World's First Cat Cinema to London. We launched our Facebook and Twitter pages 2 days ago and already have 136 (organic) likes and 409 followers. We'll not only provide a shelter for rescue cats of London, but we'll devote resources and profits to charitable causes. We want to give children suffering from life-threatening diseases and terminal illnesses a day they'll never forget. We'll also work with children and adults with psychological problems such as depression and anxiety, and children with learning difficulties. All of these groups benefit from interaction with cats according to recent research. Cat Cafes were the crowdfunding craze of 2014, raising over $250,000 worldwide through crowdfunding efforts. Last April, a Cat Cafe in London opened to 7000 bookings in its first 24 hours, and still has a 50 day waiting list, so we know that there is more than enough demand for our enterprise to succeed. This is because the opportunity to keep a cat, one of Britain's most loved pets, is non-existent in London as landlords become increasingly strict and Londoners have little time to keep a pet. Further, the health benefits of interaction with a cat include lowering stress levels, enhancing mood and lowering blood pressure, all of which the average Londoner could benefit from. We are looking for a marketing/crowdfunding strategist or a long-term investor who can help make our idea a reality - we firmly believe that the combination of cats, cinema and a cuppa represents a huge business opportunity for 10 million Londoners and 15 million tourists who visit London each year.
