Our mission is about delivering social good through helping to kickstart projects which tackle the issues highlighted in our local community planOur Memorandum of association sputs it less succinctly!:"To promote general charitable purposes for the benefit of the community of Lyme Regis and the surrounding area, and to provide relief from poverty and disadvantage and to advance education of its residents of all ages; and in particular to provide opportunities for the aforementioned residents to participate fully in the life of their community in ways which alleviate social and economic deprivation"

Lyme Regis Development Trust is effectively a 'first stop' for people in our local communities wanting to make things better for themselves or their locality. We have been running for 17 years and we are a charity.  We are quite well known, even nationally, as a good example of an innovative and ambitious Development Trust based in a small rural location (with surprising deprivation)  We gather resources (not just money) and recycle it for community benefit or to run our own community facilities We run a youth centre, and education and training centre, affordable housing project, careers advice and job club.  We give volunteering assistance, run business start-up units and support, community wifi, support groups for mental health, a Fossil Festival, foodbank and credit union,  and we facilitate delivery of the local plan and lcoal advice services (eg CAB)
