Mission

The aim of the Land Army is to help increase sustainable food production for Greater Manchester, through supporting small scale organic farmers. We also aim to provide volunteers with the opportunity to learn about sustainable food production and to find out what it's like to be a commercial grower.

The Kindling Trust is working towards a just and ecologically sustainable society. We work with communities, farmers, practitioners, activists, and policy makers to create and support progressive projects that bring about lasting and genuine change. Much of our work is around creating a more sustainable for system for Greater Manchester. Our Land Army project provides opportunities to volunteer on organic farms. We regularly take groups of volunteers out to a number of farms and urban growing sites around Greater Manchester, to help out with jobs like harversting, weeding and planting. We also provide training opportunities for our volunteers around food growing and skills related to outdoor work.
