Making the dream of higher education of unprivileged girls in Pakistan a reality.
Education and Skills
The Problem: Only 1 in 3 women can read and write. In the rural province of Balochistan, only 7% of girls can read and write. 6.5 million children under nine years old are out of school in Pakistan.Out of the 135 countries measured on the Gender Gap Index, Pakistan ranks 129. In 2005, 2.9% of the population aged 17-23 enrolled in higher education. Other developing countries, such as India and Korea, stand at 10% and 68% respectively. Our way of Work: We match students with internet-based jobs, based on their skills and abilities. Usually it is something relevant to what they are studying. We train students where necessary. We provide a safe, fully-equipped space for them to work. Working hours are 17:00 - 23:00, meaning they can still attend regular classes. On completion, the work is paid by the employer. The payment will go towards any college or university fees. If there is any left over, it will go to the student.
