We are looking for a social media savvy person to be our ‘angel’ – an Angelus mentor. Your social media wisdom will be most appreciated on a monthly basis either in person or online, so we can discuss new strategies and review output.
Education and Skills
Angelus Foundation is the only UK based charity focusing on raising awareness of new psychoactive substances, also known as ‘legal highs’. Our mission is to help society understand the dangers of club drugs to reduce the harm they cause to young people and their families. Through dedicated research, education and advocacy, the Angelus Foundation strives to highlight these risks and encourage young people to make informed, responsible choices and lead safer lives. Social media plays a crucial role in harm minimisation as our active Facebook and Twitter pages are followed by both professionals and parents. However, we have been unable to reach the most vulnerable audience - young people. It is critical that we build communication with this audience, re-think our social media strategy, and continue to grow our followers. Other social media accounts such as Instagram, SnapChat and LinkedIn are dormant due to lack of understanding on how to open these channels. The favoured platform Storify has great potential although there are marketing issues that exist around this.
