Additional Information

FarmEco is a Community Benefit Society. We aim to follow the permaculture principals of earth care, people care and future care by farming in an organic and regenerative way that creates better habitat for nature and for the humans that visit. We work on about 40 acres of land in Nottinghamshire, in between Nottingham, Newark and Grantham. There are lots of ways people can engage with the farm; we have a green social prescribing and wellness programme which runs courses and regular wellness walks. We have regular volunteer days when people from all different walks of life can come and enjoy the outdoors, learn new skills and make new friends. We offer corporate activity days. We have school visits. We can provide work experience and have a special interest in people with SEN and neurodivergent backgrounds. We are growing heritage apples and lots of other fruit, nuts and currants. The crops we harvest are sold to local buyers and also donated to food banks. We are starting to develop and area with perennial vegetables, edible flowers and herbs as well. We are considering the expansion of sheep keeping in our silvopasture field and agroforestry system. We also have a beautiful labyrinth area planted with silver birch and dogwood which is available for hire e.g. for outdoor yoga, drumming, art classes etc. We welcome university students who would like to do research around agroecology and nature conservation. We run monthly bird monitoring walks. There is so much potential on the farm and not enough people to make things happen!
