Mission

Whispering Seed supports the efforts of individuals and organisations working in education to improve the quality of basic education by combining a deep understanding of local culture, with, innovative new models for learning and development, sustainability and environmental stewardship. At Whispering Seed we firmly believe basic education and livelihood security are two of the most critical foundations of any working democracy. As Myanmar continues its path toward liberalisation it is essential all citizens are equipped to fully participate in this evolving democracy, without, losing traditional wisdoms, or, compromising environmental practices.

Whispering Seed is a Learning Centre and resource provider aimed at supporting the ongoing development of the education sector in Myanmar. Through our teacher training programs we help build the capacity of rural teachers in five critical areas including holistic education, a deeper understanding of child development, mindfulness and well being, sustainability and vocational training. While our bakery and eco centre provides a base for our vocational training for youth from across the country.
