Personal Introduction

Hi! My name is Bethany Desmond and I am currently a senior at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. I will be graduating in May 2016. I'm getting my BFA in graphic design. I'm looking for projects to add to my portfolio and I would love to help any company starting out or that just needs a revamp of their look! I'm here to help! My range of skills include corporate branding & identity, typography, poster design, stationary design and much, much more.

Experience

I've had two different graphic design internships, the first with the City of North Miami and the second with the Barry University Marketing Department. Both in-house creative groups.  As a graphic design intern for the City of North Miami, I worked under the lead designer for the city. I was responsible for file management, internal printing, designing flyers, brochures, business cards, posters, web banners, and email blasts for the city. The lead designer went on maternity leave for three months and, as an intern, I took over as lead designer for those three months. As a graphic design intern, I worked closely under the art director of the marketing department. I worked mainly in the Adobe programs, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign. I developed web banners, posters, business cards, and logos for various school clubs. Many of my pieces were and are displayed on and around campus. I've gained many design techniques through my time at Barry University as well. I'v taken classes such as Typography, Advertising Design & Production, Visual Communication, Collateral Design and Web Design.
