Online learning - taking permaculture to new audiences
Description
We are an internationally-recognised permaculture organisation with a network of educator members. Permaculture inspired thinking and action can help us to respond well to the huge challenges facing humanity. Report after report is validating the pioneering work that permaculture has been doing since the mid 1970s. (Learn more about us in our profile and at https://permaculture.org.uk/our-work). While permaculture is a movement built on education, so far it has been slow to move into the exciting digital learning arena, especially in Britain. We want to work with an experienced marketing professional to co-create a branding and marketing strategy for the Permaculture Association’s new online learning work. Planning begins with the team in January 2020. We have the opportunity to spread the knowledge, uptake, and application of permaculture by making high quality educational materials widely available - through online and blended courses. This content will be accessible to a global audience and we're particularly keen to engage a younger audience than our current demographic. We aim to improve the skills of the existing permaculture network and those just discovering permaculture by building our capabilities to deliver online learning, ultimately being self-financing in the medium term. We have 15 staff members and working groups of volunteers who collaborate using digital technology, aka we're a remote workforce - so we work together using zoom, Google Drive and other helpful technologies.
