Mission

I've created a very successful venture that is genuinely changing the church in the UK but I'm not a designer and we're now at the stage where I think we need one brand that we use for all the different parts of our organisation. A strong brand would help us be even more recognised and well known (and able to help vulnerable young people) but also help hold together the emerging streams of DC into a common family.  We are looking for a designer to help us create a brand design (including fonts, colours etc,) either using our existing logo or creating another and to use this to create a set of flyers and business cards to advertise what we do but also one that can be used for posters/flyers for specific events. It would also be great if the design could have slight variables for the 4 different groups that we run (and one that we are about to set up).

Additional Information

We are a 2 year old national support network for young LGBT Christians and their families. I'm a gay university chaplain and I set up DC when I realised the extent of the loneliness and dispare of many LGBT young people in churches. It's a simple concept of linking people into a structured community that they can safely join before they are "out" and enabling them to safely share their stories with the wider church so that they are empowerd to bring change. They have been invited to share their stories with Desmond Tutu and the Archbishop of Canterbury. They were even invited to launch the Church of England's discussions about sexuality in General Synod (the C of E parliament) and many people said that hearing the stories of these real young people changed the nature of the debate.  We run 4 confidential social media based communties that have regional meet ups around the uk and Ireland for: 1. DC - 18-30 year old LGBT Christians (350 members) 2. DC:Parents - the christian parents of LGBT people (70 members) 3. DC:Youth - 12-18 year old LGBT Christians (just about to launch) 4. DC:Friends - A group of christians (many in conservative churches) who support what we do through prayer, promotion of DC, and financially (eg we have a "fairy godparent" program where DC:Friends can  5. We are looking into launching DC+, a supportive group for over 30 year old LGBT Christians We also have a twitter feed that we hand over to members (normally those who are not out) for them to be able to share their stories with the wider world. And we do work with conservative church leaders and youthworkers to enable them to become more inclusive of LGBT people in their churches. We aim to be a pastoral and mission resource for the wider church so that young LGBT Christians do not give up on life or God.  We welcome all young LGBT Christians whatever their theology (including those who are conservative about their own ethics) and promise that we prioritise those who are most vulnerable (eg the young and those in the most conservative ends of the church without other forms of support). For young people who are religious discovering that you are LGBT can be a scary and devistating blow. DC has been a game changer not just for our members but in rebranding the perception that most of the UK church had of LGBT people. We have helped them see that LGBT people are within their churches and that they are not the angry threat that they were worried about. We try to be a fun, confident but not threatening brand that is accessible to young LGBT Christians and that is open enough that sympathetic conservative church leaders feel that they can recomend us to their church members. We are recognised by secular LGBT organisations such as Stonewall and by archbishops, bishops and theologians within the church for the essential role that we are playing in providing for the care of this minority group.
