You Grow They Grow is a programme that aims to eradicate childhood malnutrition in the township of Munsieville, South Africa by building 2020 vegetable gardens by 2020. After successful completion the model is to be taken to other townships.

Malnutrition affects millions of children in South Africa, causing over a third of child deaths. Food parcels and soup kitchens can help but are not sustainable. You Grow-They Grow equips poor families to grow their own way to better nutrition by educating them in how to build drought resistant vegetable gardens, get clinical nutrition and learn about the benefits of indigenous vegetables. The gardens are sponsored by a garden-twinning scheme where people in the UK twin their gardens with a new vegetable garden in a township in South Africa. The sponsor receives a profile of the garden owner, a twinning certificate and a drawing of the garden from one of the family's children.
