Mission

Our mission is to bring about an evidence based drug policy, by using the unique perspectives of law enforcement professionals. Drugs are a health issue and should have nothing to do with policing. Through our advocacy, public speaking and use of various forms of media, we intend to bring about change. This change can be broken down into specific policy choices.

We are UK chapter of the international organisation Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. We are made up of law enforcement figures who campaign for reform of drug laws. We recognise that prohibition causes great harm to individuals and communities. We all have specific evidence in relation to this debate. I myself used to work undercover as a drugs operative and have seen policing empower organised crime and endanger young people. Drugs get cheaper, stronger and more unpredictable, and organised crime gets more dangerous and monopolised.
