To coordinate action that builds public support and enables rewilding at a scale new to Wales And our Goal is: The people of Wales have chosen to support the creation of flourishing ecosystems and self-sustaining, nature-driven economies. This transformation is regenerating rural areas, securing a future for local communities, and strengthening Welsh culture and language — while opening the door to our wild Welsh heritage.

I work for Rewilding Britain as a policy and advocacy lead. Rewilding in Wales is currently poorly supported in policy and is a very small, often negative, part of the media conversation. Rewilding is less developed in Wales for a variety of reasons. Partly because of the history of projects relating to rewilding, partly because resources are limited in Wales so the eNGO community is smaller and less diverse. Welsh centred media and its ecosystem is also much smaller, less diverse, with smaller budgets so narrative challenge and counter views, especially in the political and policy space are much less common. There are cultural angles and some barriers to engagement here too. My time has been given to forming a rewilding alliance. This is in process and consists of engaged organisations, and some individuals of influence. We are hoping to launch publicly over late 2025. We have limited budget and no comms and marketing expertise. We believe that there is a fantastic opportunity to win support for new ways of thinking about our land, who owns it and who has a say in this as we move through the next few years. There are practitioners on the ground and there is support for this, but we need a campaign and a brand that can help unlock this. We have some foundational documents (brand briefing, theory of change) and a draft logo. We need support with initial web, social and campaign design, planning and execution. We'd welcome chance to chat to any marketeers to gain further insight into our needs and to discuss where people can help. We look forward to hearing from people.
