HC House of Edna was created to help individuals and families in need of short term housing. The program consists of technology social interaction, job training and placement, financial planning, proving childcare, and individual/family therapy throughout residency.

Harvest Center House of Edna (HC house of Edna) is community-based transitional housing program serving families in the Hopkins, Eastover, and Gadsden communities. Named after the late Edna Lee Weeks, whose life mission was reconstructing families in an effort to uplift the community and enhance the lives of others. Located in the Lower Richland area of Richland County, these communities have been stricken with the cost of increased real estate and the lack of high paying jobs, as stated on Richland Online. As noted by Neighborhood Scouts, the Lower Richland community real estate is priced at a median of $108,076, which is more expensive than 40.1% of the neighborhoods in South Carolina and 23.8% of the neighborhoods in the U.S. It is the goal of HC House of Edna to be an "economic driver" in the lives of the families we serve. Moreover, with the great disparate between the earned income of African American and Caucasian. Based on the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, African Americans earned on average $40,099, while Caucasians earned on average $ 50,416, a difference of 20.5%. The second goal of HC House of Edna is to provide a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M) educational program. S.T.E.M teaches the four disciplines (stated previously) not as separate and discrete subjects but, S.T.E.M integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications. Each lesson is comprised of six characteristics to include the following- * focus on real-world issues and problems * guided by the engineering design process * immerse students in hands-on inquiry and open-ended exploration * involve students in productive teamwork * involve students in productive teamwork * allow for multiple right answers and reframe failure as a necessary part of learning HC House of Edna offers outreach programs such as: before and after school care, family home ownership classes, continuing education tutoring, provide Food Bank services, health awareness. HC House of Edna is a pillar of hope and place of refuge, serving and fulfilling the needs of the community.
