Sufra NW London is a dynamic community hub that provides a wide range of services to those experiencing poverty, isolation or mental health problems. Our growing list of services include a food bank, community kitchen, edible garden, advice surgeries, and a range of accredited cooking and horticulture courses. We are driven by a committed team of volunteers and provide ongoing opportunities for individuals and local businesses to share their time, food and skills to support our cause.
Poverty Alleviation
More than 29,000 children in North West London are living in severe poverty and may go to bed hungry. Families across the borough are struggling to survive with rising prices, benefit caps and high unemployment. Sufra NW London provides a life-line for families who simply don’t have enough food to eat. Although we live in a welfare state, there are so many things that can go wrong leaving no money for food. In those moments of crisis we are here to help. We don’t encourage dependency – we provide a maximum of 4 weeks’ support in a year, but alongside our other services, we try to get people back on their feet.
