Mission

We started this group out of a shared love for live music events and from our collective desire to help in the fight against cancer. All of us have each been hugely impacted by the suffering of someone dear to us, from cancer. Also the more we have got involved with the cancer charities we continue to be increasingly touched and inspired by the stories of cancer survivors and those of the loved ones of victims. This has all led us in the increasing desire to try and help in the best way that we can. Our love for live music and arts was the obvious direction to go in. We now organise various live music and arts events and all the money we make goes to the charity.

We support Cancer Research UK and a number of other UK cancer charities. More than 331,000 people were diagnosed with cancer in the UK last year. This equates to around 910 people every day. Each year just four cancers - breast, lung, prostate and bowel - account for over half of all new cancer cases in the UK, but many other different types exist also. Cancer can develop at any age, but is most common in older people. Since the mid-1970s in Great Britain the incidence rates for all cancers combined have increased by 23% in males and 43% in females. Cancer Research UK has already saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Over the past century, their researchers have made consistent progress in the fight against cancer, and survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. They now continue with the fight to beat cancer sooner by funding scientists, doctors and nurses. They also provide cancer information to the public. They are not connected to drugs companies or any other profit making organisation and over 80p in every pound raised goes direct to research and life saving activities.
