http://WWW.tellshame.comTELL MY TRUTH AND SHAME THE DEVIL CIC (Companies House 16622978) is a London-based Community Interest Company dedicated to empowering and uplifting the Black British and Caribbean community by providing culturally relevant mental health support, professional development opportunities, and platforms for authentic storytelling. Our mission is rooted in addressing systemic inequalities, fostering resilience, and creating pathways from healing to economic empowerment. We were founded in recognition of a persistent gap in culturally competent services for Black British and Caribbean people in London - a gap that is particularly stark in mental health provision, skills training, and representation in media and public discourse. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS, 2023), Black individuals in the UK are 1.5 times more likely to experience common mental disorders than White British individuals. Yet, Black communities remain underrepresented in mental health services, and when they do engage, the care they receive often lacks cultural sensitivity and relevance. TELL MY TRUTH AND SHAME THE DEVIL CIC responds to this gap with a holistic, three-pillar approach: Heal, Learn, Earn. Heal – Providing therapy and group healing circles led by Black British and Caribbean mental health professionals who understand the cultural and historical context of trauma in these communities. Learn – Delivering training and education through an online Learning Management System (LMS) and live workshops, offering skills in media production, digital marketing, journalism, and entrepreneurship. Earn – Creating paid internships, apprenticeships, and creative collaborations that lead to employment or self-employment opportunities. Tell My Truth & Shame The Devil Podcast A core part of our strategy is our flagship podcast, Tell My Truth and Shame the Devil. This will serve as both a public education platform and a direct outreach tool for survivors of childhood sexual abuse (CSA) and other forms of trauma, particularly in Caribbean diaspora communities. The podcast will feature survivor stories, professional insights, and cultural commentary, reaching a projected audience of 10,000* monthly listeners by the end of Year 1.
