Mission

Hillside is a mental health charity supporting people across Islington. We are a physical place (near Caledonia Rd tube) and community where members come to volunteer within our kitchen, creative, social media and magazine activities. We support each other to rebuild confidence, re-engage with our community and rediscover a sense of purpose. Our monthly member-made magazine, the Gazette, showcases the best of what we have to offer. From information about local support services to articles written by members sharing their experiences or interests, there’s something for everyone here. The Gazette is currently hard copy & online published PDF based with a fanzine style (designed within Canva and published with Squarespace for online). All recent editions are on our website. Our members have a range of strengths and talents including writing, photography, research, editing, and magazine focused design within Canva. We have an ambition to continue to evolve the Gazette and expand our formats into spoken word and video. We would love to work with people that can help us be the best we can be - through training, upskilling and co-production.
