Mission

At The Skinny, our mission is supporting and promoting the Scottish cultural sector, and removing barriers to engagement with the arts by providing independent cultural journalism that is free for all. We also provide create opportunities for young people to get their first start in journalism - often being the first outlet to publish a young writer and then giving them the training and experience needed to turn their passion into a career. In recent years we have partnered with local charities to offer writing programmes for children and young people and now we're exploring what funding options might exist to help us expand this work.
