London - Fitzrovia
http://www.changingfaces.org.ukWe want each person who has an unusual appearance to be living their life without the anxiety or fear of being ignored, physically or verbally abused, harassed, restricted, rejected or ejected.
Health
At least 1.3 million people in the UK today have a significant disfigurement - a mark, scar or condition that affects their appearance. Some, like birthmarks, are present at birth, but most are acquired during life, including scarring from accidents, skin conditions like psoriasis, cancer, after a stroke, or from Bell's palsy. Changing Faces delivers support in two ways: our Changing Lives programme works to improve the confidence and wellbeing of people through psychosocial support, delivered by our Changing Faces practitioners and camouflage service. Our Changing Minds prgramme campaigns for Face Equality across society. We work in schools and businesses to help them create respectful, inlcusive environments and challenge the public, media and government, standing up to prejudice wherever it appears. We are a small charity with 30 staff and hundreds of volunteers.
