Mission
Compass Childrens Charity helps to strengthen the capacity of local partners to deliver high quality, inclusive and safe programmes. With experience of managing a diverse range of programmes across Latin America, Compass Childrens Charity is uniquely positioned to build on its prior experience and develop a simple yet effective Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework to effectively demonstrate a positive and measurable impact on the lives of children and young people.This technical support is tailored to the needs of the individual organisation and works through a cyclical, structured progression (reflecting the evolving nature of the support required over time) towards a longer-term transition away from direct support from Compass. Our aim is to work with local partners is to increase the impact and effectiveness of their programmes and strengthen the long-term sustainability of their work – ultimately benefitingmore disenfranchised children and young people both now and for years to come.

Compass Children’s Charity is an international charity, supporting children displaced by poverty, violence and abuse across Central America. We believe systemic change is achieved by
• Advocating for changes to policy and practice, ensuring the rights of children are realised
• Designing and supporting programmes that create meaningful change in the lives of young people
• Collaborating with like-minded agencies to maximise our impact
With your help we can
• Help children off the streets, out of danger, and protect their rights
• Provide education and skills for independent living and a brighter future
• Increase our restricted and unrestricted income
• Raise awareness of street & at risk children
You would be an integral part of making this difference.
How you can help:
• Refresh our social media plan to maximise supporter reach
• Create compelling content for our social media and appeals
• Support with the development of our website
• Share your expertise and advise on most effective channels and platforms to engage new and diverse audience of supporters
What impact will you have
As a small charity we work to do an enormous amount with not a lot of money - we do not have large budgets or resources to implement many of our activities. So you would need to be resourceful and proactive, but you would have the enormous satisfaction of knowing your role is vital.
Your contribution and input would make a huge difference to the Charity and our programme partners.

Compass Children's Charity is a UK, non-governmental organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation and defence of street children and victims of trafficking in Latin America. With programme partners in Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Mexico who provide services to 10,000 children a year. We provide advocacy, capacity building and funding support to partner programmes in Latin America. In the UK we provide community education on street children and suitably qualified volunteers to Latin American field programmes. Charity number : 1073903",

We achieve our mission in the following ways:
Our team of Social Workers reunite children and young people with their families. Where this is not possible we place them with carefully chosen foster families.
We support children to re-engage in full-time education.
We use our Drop in Programme and Education Programmes plus sports activities to engage with children and young people, which enables us to provide practical and emotional support.
Our enterprise schemes provide training and apprenticeships for young people unable to re-engage in formal education.
generating income and creating jobs for the children and young people we care for.
What we do:
We provide advocacy, capacity building and funding support to our partner programmes. We work to develop collaborative partnerships that promote measurable impact on the lives of at-risk children through programmes and rights based advocacy. We support children to re-engage in full-time education. We use our Drop in Programme and Education Programmes plus sports activities to engage with children and young people, which enables us to provide practical and emotional support. Our enterprise schemes provide training and apprenticeships for young people unable to re-engage in formal education. We provide a safe environment for children to live and grow and work to re-integrate children with their families where safe to do so.
How we work:
We raise funds from individuals, trusts and funding bodies for projects, education, core costs, healthcare, street outreach, Sport for health, Music Therapy and many more. We campaign for the rights of street children via social media, campaign actions and lobbying.
