Children and Youth
We work with youth from marginalized, low-income rural and peripheral communities in Guatemala and El Salvador, focusing on areas where growing climate vulnerability, environmental degradation, economic exclusion and limited opportunities are placing increasing numbers of youth at-risk to the influence of gangs, violence, migration and other impacts of social disintegration. Our young leaders are the unlikely leaders on the front lines of enormous political, social, environmental and economic changes. Working to ensure “nothing about us without us”, we support our youth to develop 21st century leadership skills, build their citizen muscles, and become part of a rapidly-growing inclusive network of social entrepreneurs and change-makers that are taking action to combat the most pressing public problems at the local, regional and international levels. Through education, training and leadership development, we are creating a generation of young leaders who have the skills, sense-of-self and spark to address tough challenges and initiate innovative and creative solutions. Motivated by a strong sense of possibility and purpose, these young leaders are modeling true grassroots entrepreneurship: building community stewardship, fostering regenerative resilience and making a stand for justice and equality for people and the planet.
Each year, we work with a graphic design volunteer to help us design our annual report. This year we are hoping to create an interactive online annual report as well as a digital print-on-demand version. The report is typically around 15 pages long.

We would like to design a new high-impact standup banner (0.8x2.0m) to use at our events and programs - one in Guatemala and one in El Salvador. These banners will help us get the message out about our work and the work of our amazing youth. The banner will be in both English and Spanish. We are looking for someone that can help us develop the message and design.

We are looking for a graphic design to help us design a package of invitations for email, FB, Twitter etc for an event that SERES will be co-hosting on youth, migration and transformation. This event, which will include funders and philanthropists from the Seattle community, will greatly help SERES' to generate more support for at-risk youth in Guatemala and El Salvador.
