Mission

Our Mission The games industry is a young industry full of energetic and enthusiastic people bursting with ideas and creativity, GamesAid seeks to harness the talents and energy of our industry to get out and raise money for great causes. We are always looking for new ideas and new members to join our ever growing membership to help us to improve the lives of the many young people who need support. GamesAid acts as a collective for charitable activity on behalf of the industry, taking advice from all sectors. It is a non-trading body. The charity is administered by Trustees, who operate on a fixed term basis. It is formally run by a Chair, who is also on a fixed term Rationale GamesAid is a UK based video games charity (Registered UK Charity # 1081706) which acts as an umbrella to support a number of smaller charities who help disadvantaged and disabled children and young people. It is a non-trading body, administered by Trustees who operate on a fixed term basis run by a Chair who is also appointed on a fixed term. As the only fully democratic charity in the games space, members of the games industry propose and vote for the charities of their choice annually. The charities who get the top number of votes then get an equal share of all the monies raised that year, proving that games and gamers can do great things for others

Help needs to create a new logo

Description

Overview We are looking for concept sketches/rough drafts for a new logo. What is GamesAid? GamesAid is a UK based video games charity which acts as an umbrella to support a number of smaller charities who help disadvantaged and disabled children and young people. We raise money from the UK video games industry through charity events, donations, and game sales and distribute it annually to a selection of charities voted for by our members. As the only fully democratic charity in the games space, anyone working in the games industry can become a GamesAid member and propose and vote for the charities of their choice. Why a new logo? Increasingly we are working with game companies to put our logo in their games as in-game advertising or to sell in-game items for charity. We have found that our existing logos colours tend to clash with other colour schemes/backgrounds. The cross emblem may not evoke ‘games’ enough (and it’s parts are wonky). Target Market The core of GamesAid’s target market is those who work within the video games industry, but increasingly we would like to spread knowledge of GamesAid through to consumers, the gaming public, at large. New logo requirements /deliverable 1 or 2 initial sketches / concept images Delivered as digital images of any type Must feature the word ‘GamesAid’. Must feature an ‘emblem’ of some sort. Our logo sometimes needs to be fit into games with varying size and space requirements (an in-game banner ad, on an in-game item etc). If the emblem could be moved around the text (not anchored inseparably to a part of the text) in a few different configurations that would be useful. For reference, Special Effect’s ‘!’ emblem is movable in this way. Must be bold and stand out. Designs do not have to use the existing colours or font - everything can change. Thematic Keywords Games, games community, children and young people, energy, bright, bold
