Mission

The charity administers the Mendelssohn on Mull Festival which provides young professionals in the field of string chamber music with a week of preparation and performance in which to develop their skills, while working with established artists in the surroundings of natural beauty that drew Mendelssohn to Scotland. In addition, Sound Waves runs an educational programme for children from 4 to 16 called Mull Music Makers. There are now 60 children on the Isle of Mull who regularly play the violin and have begun to form fiddle ensembles.
