I am the founder of an association which is working towards finding a cure or treatment for the major symptoms of a rare genetic disorder. My son was born with this disorder. It is a devastating disorder, some of its symptoms being congenital blindness, progressive hearing loss, and mental problems. I need to create a website for the association. I also need a logo, if someone is willing to help with this. Since we are just starting out, we do not have any funds available for website/logo creation, hence I request help from Pimp My Cause. The association is a pan european entity, with members from different linguistic backgrounds.

1. We need to buy a custom domain name. 2. The website itself would be small. The need of the hour is to have a web presence, and not something very elaborate. 3. The site needs to be multilingual - we will have the content translated ourselves, but the site needs to be able to handle multilingual functionality. 4. Once the website is created and up and running, I would be updating the contents myself, as and when the need arises. Therefore it would be preferable to have a platform which is not too difficult to grasp. 6. We do not wish to have a website which is loaded with photographs. In fact, all we wish to have is a small photograph in the banner/header of every page. There is a reason for this - as the community we wish to help are all blind from birth, we feel it would be insensitive to have big photographs splashed across the page, yet we need to show that there is a real patient community out there. So this would probably need a little customising of a standard template. I have tried to chat with some of the website builders, and this should be doable, with a few tweaks. I would be happy to share the URL of an existing website, in order to demonstrate what we would strive to have. 7. We would definitely need a custom domain name email. 8. We would need to embed a membership form on the site. Thank you.

Request for help with website and logo creation

I am creating an association for finding a cure or treatment for the major symptoms of a rare genetic disorder called Norrie Disease (ND). My son was born with this disorder. ND is a devastating disorder, some of its symptoms being congenital blindness, progressive hearing loss, and mental problems. I need to create a website for the association. I also need a logo, if someone is willing to help with this. Since I am just starting out, I do not have any funds available for website/logo creation, hence I request help from Pimp My Cause. I would like to provide a few details about the help that I am looking for: 1. When the idea of an association was first conceived, the name thought of, was "Norrie Syndrome Group". I had accordingly gone ahead and bought the domain name www.norriesyndromegroup.org. As time went along, we (the committee) realised that the name did not truly reflect what we are about, and we have now decided on a different name "Norrie Disease Research Association". I need to know if it is possible to change the domain name? Or do I have to cancel the earlier one, and buy a new one? 2. I need advice w.r.t. web hosting. The need is for something cheap yet reliable. Also, should the domain name be procured from the same company who host the website? I think that makes it cheaper? I had bought the domain name from 123reg, for information. 3. The website itself would be small. The need of the hour is to have a web presence, and not something very elaborate. I should also point out that the site needs to be multilingual - I am planning to have the content available in 5 or 6 languages. I also do not need a transactional website at this stage, so that ought to simplify matters + make it more cost effective. 4. Once the website is created and up and running, I would be updating the contents myself, as and when the need arises. Therefore I would need to understand how to do this. 5. As the association is all about research, and applying for funding is going to be a major exercise, I need a professional looking logo. I would be very grateful if someone could help with this.
