Mission

An estimated 98% of disabled children in Africa remain out of school. They have been missed by the great advances in access to education across the continent in recent decades and fallen through the net. AbleChildAfrica works to address the barriers to their inclusion, strengthening systems of referral for medical support and disability aids, improving the physical infrastructure of schools, dispelling damaging myths about disability and advocating with local service providers to make services more inclusive. AbleChildAfrica's work is highly effective and typically the children with disabilities we help to get enrolled in schools have similar attendance rates to their non-disabled peers despite the challenges they have to overcome.
