Mission
The Shaken Baby Alliance’s (SBA) mission is to provide support for victim families and professionals, to prevent child abuse, and to provide justice for the innocent victims of child abuse.
SBA was founded on a Fort Worth kitchen table by three mothers whose children were victims of Shaken Baby Syndrome (a subset of abusive head trauma) and could find no resources or support. One mother, Bonnie Armstrong, is now Executive Director. Her daughter Tiffany is 23, and although left with Cortical Visual Impairment, seizures, and other disabilities, she attends Tarrant County Junior College.
SBA offers three services: Victim Family Services, Professional Support (Training and Case Consultations) and Prevention Education. In 1998 the Alliance obtained its 501 (c) 3 status. Since then, we have helped over 4,800 family members, trained over 16,700 professionals, educated over 5,800 students in SBS prevention, and provided 1,800 case consultations for investigative and legal professionals in child physical abuse cases.

We are a small agency with a budget of under $500,000. In 2018 the state unexpectedly cut our funding by $189,000, and we have been struggling to keep up with the demand for our services and raise money.
We need cash, and an extraordinary marketer to make that fundraising campaign happen (or a million dollar donor). This challenge is not for the person wants to change our mission or our name.
It is for a person who dreams big, like we do. At SBA, we never want to see a child shaken again or buy another baby coffin. We want to offer services to every victim family that asks. We want to be able to offer cops scholarships to our training, and not turn down court cases in rural counties because we lack funds.
