Mission

We are campaigning to raise awareness of the dangers of refractive surgery, including LASIK. The providers of this surgery have severely downplayed the risk of the surgery, and many people are living lives of indescribable pain. Many have even committed suicide (currently 22 known). This industry is self regulated, and doctors do not collect long term safety and efficacy data. They have no incentives to. We have a few goals (1) Raise awareness to people considering laser eye surgery of the real risks (2) Provide a place for people who are suffering from refractive surgery complications to come together, where they can get treatment advice and support. (3) Appeal to the powers that be (government) to take action for this surgery. We also want to appeal directly to the surgeons who do this surgery to stick to the first principle of medicine of 'do no harm'.
