Mission

Holme Grown Eastby CIC is a four-acre growing space that has been set up for the benefit of the local community. Led by a steering group of committed volunteers, our efforts focus on growing, sharing, and connecting. We grow healthy and sustainable produce for our community to buy (at an affordable price). We are creating an environment where wildlife can thrive and we are nurturing a sense of wellbeing and community through our volunteering opportunities and collaboration with local groups. Our plot consists of several linked areas – a wildflower meadow and wildlife pond, shedquarters / bloom room and cut flower area, a polytunnel, growing spaces, an orchard and a woodland area. Our community growing space encourages ‘Growing, Sharing and Connecting’. We grow fruit, vegetables and flowers in a sustainable way for local people to enjoy at a fair price – demonstrating a true circular economy in action. We share knowledge, experience and skills to tackle the day-to-day challenges on the plot and promote the power of growing for health and wellbeing. We connect with the local community by providing a place for people of all ages and backgrounds to volunteer (or simply enjoy) and build lasting friendships together in a beautiful location. All of our efforts work in harmony with nature as we promote sustainable practices and provide a haven for wildlife to thrive.

Help with promoting our offers and services

Description

We have been running for a few years and have a thriving volunteer community now, but in order to be able to support the business we need to have some offers of services that can bring in more income streams to support our community work. We're not short of ideas, from basic hire of our site and facilities to offering experience days, classes and more educational activities including alternative provision, home schooling or holiday clubs. We don't know anything about how to effectively market these opportunities, how to best use social media or other channels so people can see them, and are tempted in. We would really like someone to spend a little time with us helping to explain how we can market our services, and probably give us a view on what type of materials we need, perhaps set up a marketing plan that we can then follow, and any templates/designs that could be used to allow us to keep on top of this without it being a massive undertaking.
