Mission

We're a national education charity working with schools, multi-academy trusts and local authorities to help close the gap for children and young people who are at a disadvantage in education. We want to make social mobility real and help all children and young people across England and Wales to thrive emotionally, socially and academically no matter what their background, challenge or need might be.

We help schools and local authorities to improve the life chances of care experienced children, now we need your help to demonstrate our impact!

Description

There are over 75,000 children living in local authority care in England. The way schools understand and respond to children and young people who have experienced disrupted and difficult home lives is key to how much they enjoy and thrive in education. The impact of childhood trauma and neglect can often have a negative affect that lasts a lifetime but there is so much schools can do to create a nurturing and sensitive environment to repair some of that negative impact and be a stable, protective factor in their lives. After a year of trialling a new coaching programme in schools, focused on wellbeing, mental health and understanding the needs of care experienced children in partnership with local authorities, we are collecting data demonstrating inspirational impact on over 150 children and 30 schools. We'd love some help communicating the effectiveness of our programme by bringing that data to life, enabling us to increase the reach of our partnership work with the schools and local authorities that look after our most vulnerable children.
