Personal Introduction

Hi, I'm a strategic marketing professional with 9 years of experience devising and running social marketing campaigns in the health, education and international development sectors. I have 1 day a week available pro-bono to contribute to charity/social enterprise marketing projects - whether that is in being hands on in developing strategy or just meeting for an hour to discuss your marketing challenges and provide any ideas and advice. My approach is friendly, professional and disciplined. I don't believe in marketing for the sake of it - marketing should be effective and deliver ROI. For that reason, my passion is for developing comms strategies that are based on solid objectives, with strong audience insight at their core, and with sound evaluation so we can make sure we can learn and improve for next time. Having a good strategy in place can cost very little, but can make a huge difference to your organisation.

  • BSc (Hons) Economics and Politics - 1st class

  • CIM Advanced Certificate in Marketing

  • Diploma in Broadcast Journalism

Experience

I have spent the past 5 yrs working for a major strategic marketing consultancy focused on the public and third sector, which involves: - working with clients to define objectives, audiences, core propositions, key messages, channels and comms plans - developing innovative marketing strategies, running workshops, presenting to key stakeholders - running marketing campaigns, including advertising, events, PR, digital engagement and social media I have also worked in marketing within a range of organisations, including a blue-chip financial service organisation and a local council. I volunteer with a school on a consultancy basis, which has involved development and launch of their new website, and conducting low-cost research and evaluation among key audiences.
