Mission

African Development Choices (ADC) is a non-profit organisation working to improve the well-being of children and communities in Africa. We do this by championing increased access to essential public services such as clean water, adequate sanitation, and child-friendly facilities like playgrounds. We believe that mismanagement of local resources by leaders in Africa leads to lack of access to essential public services, which exacerbates poverty. We also believe that the opposite of poverty is not income; the opposite of poverty is dignity. And providing access to essential public services safeguards the dignity of communities living in poverty. Our innovative Three-Step Approach to development empowers communities and leaders in Africa to manage local resources and meet local needs independently. Better management of local resources leads to increased access to essential public services, which in turn reduces poverty.
