Additional Information

Sankofa Mentoring Matters was just founded in June of 2019 and we plan to launch programs beginning in March of 2020. We are in desperate need of a marketer as we seek to establish brand awareness, make the right moves regarding how we present ourselves on social media platforms, and form our strategy for launching our organization. Everyone has an idea of what mentoring is, but Sankofa, actually goes beyond mentoring as most know it to be. The word Sankofa is an African word that means "It is not taboo to go back and retrieve that which is at risk of being lost." We are progressive but also intent of preserving tradition. Our Rites of Passage Programs are designed to impact youth comprehensively with a goal of overall wellness. In fact, we will offer classes that utilize six dimensions of wellness to include physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and occupational. We will also offer life-skills training in things such as cooking, sewing, camping and experiences such as going to the opera and symphony. Exposure will also include such things as coding, STEM and college prep. We need help in creating a robust marketing strategy that attracts participants, teachers and donors.

Sankofa Mentoring Matters

Description

Our name says it all! Sankofa means that it is not taboo to go back and get that which is at risk of being lost. And, we all know that mentoring "matters". We seek to serve youth in their formative years by providing training and experiences that impact their comprehensive wellness. That is where you come in. Just like mentoring matters, so does a professional and robust marketing strategy. As a newly formed 501(c)3 working on practically no budgeting, until some funding is secured, we need the help of a professional who is looking to make a difference. You can make the difference by helping us in the critical area of need so that we clearly represent our mission, vision and are attractive to participants, teachers and donors.
