Mission

Climate Ed's mission is to educate the public, especially children, about climate change. Climate change poses a serious threat to life on Earth. As the UK government states in Goal 13 of the Sustainable Development goals, 'we need to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts'. Our Vision A society where everyone has accurate, up-to-date knowledge of climate change and climate science, and an understanding of how they as an individual can take action over this issue. Our Mission To provide high quality climate education to all the children we work with, and to help these children spread knowledge of this issue in their wider communities. Our Values The values Climate Ed upholds are: knowledge and its dissemination, freedom of access to education, non-judgemental cooperation, and building sustainable communities. Our Aims To work with partner schools across London (and possibly beyond) to deliver climate education to primary and secondary age children and engage them and their wider communities in taking action on climate change.

Additional Information

We offer a range of programmes to schools covering a variety of topics including the essentials of climate science, carbon footprints and how to reduce them, and specialist topics like the psychology of climate change and how to communicate with people about the issue. Our programmes use a range of fun, innovative and stimulating learning resources. We place student learning at the heart of what we do. We are driven by a belief in the importance of taking action on this urgent issue, and by the recognition that children who take social action in their early years will be more engaged in social activism later in life.

Help needed with marketing for new climate education charity

Description

I am a teacher and I set up a climate education charity (Climate Ed) a year ago. We teach children about climate change and empower them to take action on the issue. After a successful first year running workshops in schools and raising some money we are looking to expand our work. Specifically, we want to do two things: - Deliver our interactive climate assemblies in more schools across south London. - Deliver our structured programme of workshops about climate change in more schools. We are trying to work out the best strategy for marketing these services to schools. We do have the support of a local council, but most of the marketing needs to be done by ourselves. We would be incredibly grateful to receive any support in this undertaking. Many thanks for reading.
