Mission

Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary in Berkshire, is a UK registered charity, founded over two decades ago. We rescue these sensitive, social animals from pet shops, zoos, even family homes to bring them to Lakeview, where they live their remaining years in the most natural environment possible, with the companionship of their own species and with dignity. Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary work to give primates a better life through lifelong sanctuary care and by raising awareness for people to treat them with the compassion and respect that they need. Our mission is simple: Rescue - We travel the country in response to phone calls from other rescue organisations and individuals to reach monkeys in distress. Re-home - Once a monkey has been rescued, they are brought back to Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary to spend the rest of their life with their own kind. Rehabilitate - Monkeys suffer trauma and distress as much as we humans do. To rehabilitate these wonderful animals takes time, patience and kindness, all found at Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary.

Additional Information

For more than 30 years, Lakeview Monkey Sanctuary in Ascot, have rescued primates from the UK and overseas pet trade, circuses and laboratories and brought them back to their woodland setting where they are given a second chance at life in their forever home. Lakeview believes that the primates in their care have the right to peace and tranquility and the time to be with their own kind. The sanctuary is not open to the general public because of the fragility of the majority of the primates who have suffered through the circumstances of their past conditions and from abuse. Each individual is treated with compassion, patience and love and supported to live out their remaining years and at last, find sanctuary.
