After a history of working in Organic farms I have realised the need for change. We are at a time where we need local communities to connect with their local food suppliers more than ever. Cutting out the middle man has huge benefits to both parties. Alot of the time local communities are even unaware of who their local suppliers are. We need to change this and create an online hub that connects local organic farms to local people and vise versa. At first this platform can become an online marketplace and food hub for local suppliers to engage with their community and sell their produce, offering convineint delivery and pickup slots. In the future we envision centralised distribution centers and electric delivery vehicles with regular farm pickups. Cutting down the supply chain to be as efficient and as green as possible. Our vision is to create a sustainable way for people to food shop within a local community. With this model working in a particular area in the UK we then forsee rolling it out across the country, allowing people to reconnect within their local communities and promoting sustainable food and agriculture across the UK.
