Mission

Huntly Summer School provides a week of tuition by professional performers in classical and traditional music for those who have never previously had a chance to learn an instrument. HSS is based in the North East of Scotland and is open to all comers of any ability or disability with classes for children and adults. The participants are charged only 30% of the costs per place - the shortfall is met through fundraising, donations and sponsorship. Three free places are offered to those in the care of social services. HSS believes that top quality and inspiring music tuition should be available to all, not just the affluent.

HSS was set up in 2009 as a very small scale enterprise. We have had successful years, with glowing feedback forms and many returners. We are a not-for -profit organisation run by three of the violin tutors.
