There Must Be A Better Way? We are not an event and we are definitely not asking for your money, this is an idea, a concept to be explored by you and your friends to “Grow Your OWN Festival – Read on....... A group of Good and Like Minded people (say 250..) invest £100 each together (i.e. Price of a Festival Ticket) The money generated is used to buy land in the ownership (i.e. name on the land... title) of all that have invested with a modest amount retained for some infrastructure costs. From then on the benefits appear to me as a “no-brainer” in the details are a few of my favourite one’s I am sure there are many others

Campin’ in the sunshine and having fun with the kids all day, then a bit of a music and a good “drink up” in the night time, done “our way” not the “Billy Butlins” or “Fred Pontins” way. 2. We can all have a key to the gate, i.e. you own your own bit of land, picnics, barbeques, game of footy or anything the investing community consider appropriate. 3. We “GROW” as all the money invested by the community into the operation stays within it, Nothing Leaves or is Taken. No profit =No Greed=No Tax=We WIN and keep what we got. 4. Once you register some land in the name of 250 people, realistically what is the chance of it ever being sold again? I reckon not much...... as time went on tracing all 250 and getting the legal work done would be difficult. Do you see where I am going in the dim and distant future??? To really “stitch it up” you could place a covenant on the land so that as owners expire (i.e. die) ownership reverts to “The Common Ownership of the People”. “From little Acorns (i.e. the price of a festival ticket) can Oak Trees Grow (i.e. Our Common Land) I feel inspired to pursue this idea within My local community and try to make it a reality, opening this group was a way to explore the possibilities of collective ownership and wealth and draw on the experience of other potentially “like minded” people hopefully other “leaders” and Good People will Stand Up within everybody’s respective groups and make this a reality for others. When you think about it “Collective or Social Responsibility” places a duty on everyone involved to be a Leader as everyone needs to take and keep control for the good of the whole. Everyone will have their own idea of what a Festival constitutes; some events or land uses may not be able to operate in this manner by the very nature of what they are, others I believe could flourish as could the social wealth and experience of any group that could “pull it off”. Construct yourself a New Future for Today, Tomorrow and Beyond or nothing will change – There Must Be a Better Way To change the way we do things I believe that Protesting is the Slow Route, Constructing is the way forward, making something happen that is different and just for the general good of all concerned has got to be the way forward, no profit or loss for any one person, no Fat Cats and no one gets made Bankrupt, we construct our own future in a small and grassy field in the sunshine!!!!.
