‘St Hugh’s Community Centre is here to provide a social, educational and recreational hub, incorporating the whole’s community’s ideas, needs and welfare’The intention is to provide a full range of education, training, leisure and recreation facilities for all sections of our diverse community.  Local volunteers, through the development of a structured volunteering scheme, will mainly run the centre. Youth work, fitness, healthy living, training, employment preparation, drugs and alcohol awareness, mother and baby group, creative writing and arts and crafts are amongst the activities planned as well as good provision for family celebrations and partnership meetings. We will use up to date IT facilities for education, leisure and community use. Our vision will also focus on addressing the social and economic needs of local people and on improving the environmental sustainability of the local community.

GRANT WRITER / FUNDRAISER

About the opportunity We are looking for a grant writer / fundraiser volunteer. Main responsibilities:- To assist with researching potential donors, trusts, foundations and company prospects to target with grant and funding applications- To assist with writing and submitting funding proposals/applications to grant providers- To assist in proofreading grant applications- To assist in developing sponsorship proposals for corporate sector- To communicate with funders and develop relationships and partnerships What are we looking for? - High level of written English is compulsory- Grant writing experience is also preferable for this role.- Good IT skills. - Communication and problem solving skills Benefits of becoming a LBA Volunteer:- Flexible working – any time and any day from home or our office-Valuable work experience in a professional environment.- Get real, practical, on the job experience and training.- Perfect opportunity to enhance existing skills and experience Please note, this is an unpaid job, but LBA can fund you food, travel and expenses incurred as a result of volunteering.
